What is Alcohol addiction?

Alcohol is the most frequently used psychoactive substance in the world. It is preeminent in cultures across the globe and its use has been closely connected to the history of society. Alcohol, like all sedatives, hypnotics and analgesics, belongs to the category of central nervous system depressants.

Two program types are available

DURING THIS INTENSIVE PROGRAM, YOU’LL LEARN TO:

  • Understand your addiction as a disease
  • Understand how your addiction impacts your life and the people around you
  • Develop an abstinence and relapse-prevention plan
  • Manage relapse triggers and warning signs (stress, cravings, etc.)

Following this intensive period, weekly outpatient follow-ups are offered, including group and individual sessions. The group sessions are based on the principles of relapse prevention and dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) and allow patients to gain the skills they need to return to their respective communities.

Throughout the entire treatment period, in addition to counselling , you will benefit from medical services and, when necessary, medication-assisted therapy. You will also benefit from random toxicological screening.
